Brought in to lead a new division for the creation of software based on skills in the bespoke development team. Roles included technology leadership and agile coaching for the team. Unfortunately, the company closed down shortly after I joined.

Head Of Software Development

During my time there I was involved in 24 customer solutions covering technology built on top of Dynamics CRM, SharePoint, and bespoke solutions.

In my final months there I was operationally in charge of their VirtualBox solution, and my role involved everything from architecture, installation of the servers, configuration, support, maintenance and investigations into new areas of expansion.

Senior Developer & Architect

I architected the entire solution for CorpSecure - including all IT infrastructure and development requirements. This included putting together the hardware, installing the software (Windows and Linux) and writing the additional software needed (Windows and Linux).

I was in charge of a small support team of 3 people who managed inbound support via phone and email for hosting and ISP-related issues. I also provided internal organisation IT support. 
I was also tasked with the development of their customer SMS solution, monitoring solutions and internal tooling.

Equal Experts is a premier consulting company specialising in small teams of top developers, QAs, and BAs to deliver solutions that empower customers. Robert's role in EE is that of software development expertise lead, where he is responsible for a team of engineers with a specific role. Robert works hands-on in the code, with customer security and architecture teams and the BAs and POs to shape the vision and delivery of the solutions provided.

Feb 2023 - Feb 2024: VoxSmart 🇬🇧

Robert was a staff engineer / tech lead / senior developer at VoxSmart helping them modernise their technology, ways of working and the structure inside the business. Robert worked hand-in-hand with the CTO on strategy and alignment of business to technology goals.

May 2019 - Dec 2022: John Lewis &amp; Partners 🇬🇧

Robert was a tech lead / staff engineer / senior developer for John Lewis &amp; Partners. Initially, the Wishlist team worked with them on their digital transformation strategy

Tech Lead / Practice Lead / Community Lead

As a tech lead, Robert was responsible for the technical delivery across many teams during his time. During this time he had on average 6 direct reports and was responsible for the architecture and design of systems; getting buy-in from businesses and ensuring the successful delivery of solutions to AWS customers.

Details of projects:

June 2016 - Jan 2017: Worked on the team that delivered HealthAPI, specifically development of the API in Java.

Jan 2017 - June 2018: Tech lead on the team that owns the service health dashboard (SHD), personal health dashboard (PHD) and Support Center Console. Tech was all front-end focused and built large scale &amp; highly available.

Tech Lead

Tech lead, mentor and business development advisor for the Microsoft AppFactory team. Under the mentorship and tech lead, Robert lead over a dozen projects to success with teams of interns who were guided and trained to be powerful developers. The interns had a 100% hiring rate and have gone on to lead teams at Zapper, Microsoft and won MTN app of the year.

As a business development advisor, Robert reviewed submissions from prospective clients for funding of their startups. He worked with a team and was able to successfully launch multiple businesses with the team.
